It certainly has been a strange couple of months with the covid-19 lockdown affecting many parts of our lives. Racing at 'The Pike' is no exception with just 1 day of racing this year to date. However there is light at the end of the tunnel as restrictions are being lifted and even fast forwarded. In the background the committee have been working away with ideas to offset ongoing costs with the latest fundraiser expected to go live in the next few days with a race prepared production Micra as the prize.
More importantly the committee are now focusing on a return to racing while adhering to covid guidelines - which are changing by the day as restrictions ease. It is currently proposed to start back with a practice day on July 18th and racing on July 19th. It is planned to run a championship over 7 rounds as well as all the cup days and the McNamara Micra Challenge with the other racedates as follows - August 15 &16, Sept 6 & 27, Oct18 and Nov. 8.
We are currently awaiting confirmation that the ambulance can attend on these dates before confirming the return to racing. An update will be issued ASAP and in the meantime stay safe
