Let's go Racing

After such uncertain times over the past year, Waterford Raceway are delighted to be reopening the gates once again for racing on bank holiday Monday, April 10th. Problems with securing insurance due to Brexit made life difficult since the end of our 2021 championship season but now due to some hard work by committee members, we have secured insurance in association with Motorsport Ireland. This happened, in no small way, with the help of James Coleman and John Naylor whom the club are extremely grateful to.

Waterford Raceway will continue to run under our usual rules and regulations with the only stipulation from Motorsport Ireland being that every driver must hold an MI license and pay for personal insurance at each event.

An inspection was carried out on the track by a FIA safety inspector and work has been carried out, following his report, to increase the quality and safety for all who attend racedays.

April 10th will see the gates opening at 9am with an extended practice session beginning at 10am to give new drivers and newly built cars as well as cars that may have been mothballed since 2021 some track time to get used to their new surroundings and suss out any minor problems that may occur. Racing will begin at 12 noon on the day and we look forward to some great racing over the 2023 championship season.
